On the highways of Europe and across the atlantic sea. From the rooftops of Berlin to the neon lit palmtrees of Barcelona. From endless days and nights on busses and planes. From the skybars of Manhattan to the hills of San Francisco. From glimmering nights of parties and people to sleepy days of waiting and soundchecking on venues all over the continent these songs and stories were born. The idea to make music close to the heart with one foot firmly rooted in a pop tradition and the other foot with a steady beat in electronic music.
The members of Monostrip are all part of the tireless touring partymachine that is I’m from Barcelona. After five years of recording and touring with the punkchoir the thought of making music in a smaller but in an other way larger scale was born. To combine all the influenses and talent and make something of their own. The result became Monostrip. A band that wants to make popmusic in its most purest sense combined with the warm analogue synth sounds of the 80s and the best club music of today. To make great songs but to also put a thought into every detail that makes music great instead of just good. We like to think that we have succeeded in doing just that.
At the moment Monostrip is putting the finishing touches on what is to become their debutalbum. And after that we hope the highways of Europe is ready for us again.
